"Let’s finish what South Australia started — and lead the world in clean, affordable energy."
South Australia is already a leader in renewable energy. We’re on track for 100% net renewables by 2027. Now is not the time to look backwards. It’s time to double down on affordable, smart energy for the future.
As your independent representative, I’ll fight to make sure every household in Sturt benefits from the clean energy transition — not just big business.
My energy priorities
- Oppose nuclear energy distractions that waste time and money — we don’t need them. Nuclear energy is not the right path for Australia. It is clear from the evidence that nuclear power would be too slow, too costly, and too risky to address the urgent need for climate action. Reports from organizations like the CSIRO and the Clean Energy Council highlight that nuclear energy would take decades to implement, cost significantly more than renewables, and introduce complex challenges around waste management, safety, and water usage—all while delaying the transition away from fossil fuels.
- Support rooftop solar and battery storage for every household, including renters.
- Invest in community energy initiatives like solar gardens and shared batteries.
- Electrify homes to reduce dependence on gas and lower power bills.
- Expand household energy efficiency programs — better insulation, efficient appliances, and smarter building standards.
- Introduce energy performance ratings and minimum standards for rental properties.
- Quickly and fully phase out gas from our homes for economic, climate and health reasons.
- Secure enough Australian gas to meet Australian domestic needs.
Green energy isn’t just about the environment — it’s about cheaper bills, healthier homes, and energy independence. Let’s lead the future, not fear it.
